Troy just got finished with his PET Scan and blood work. Lucky for us, this time the PET Scan was scheduled early in the day and Dr. Amato had the results when he saw Troy this afternoon. No Evidence of Disease! What wonderful news. Dr. Amato is very pleased with Troy's progress and we have until December before the next PET Scan. It's such a relief to hear that news. Thanks for all the prayers!!!!

Tropical Storm Edouard
Since we were at the house we had dinner with most of our girls, only Samantha was missing. It was lots of fun to get to visit with everyone. We got to spend some time with Jessica and David, Shawn & Josh, Tori and Danny and Amy and Bobby. Proving once again my NNGP status, I had my camera but did not take a single picture. I just can't believe it. Jessica and David find out whether they are having a boy or a girl next week. We can't wait! The girls did help us in our quest to downsize our "stuff". They had a great time helping us with that problem!
Speaking of prayers - Troy is scheduled for his next PET Scan on Wednesday (weather permitting I guess). We would appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers! We feel confident that everthing will be clear, but it sure will be nice to hear that from the doctor's mouth. Troy's oncologist, Dr. Jac, has informed us that he is leaving his practice to work on cancer research. We are sad to see him go because we credit alot of Troy's recovery to his care and expertise. Troy will see his partner, Dr. Amato, for the first time on Wednesday.

Camping Trip
Every year my best friends from school get together for our annual Camping Trip. We started camping out in tents and bringing along the whole family. Sometimes there were up to 26 people. We usually camp in or around the Texas Hill Country (Lake Travis, Canyon Lake, etc.) and occasionally as far away as Lake O The Pines, close to the Texas Oklahoma border. As the years went by we decided that the camping was getting a little less fun than it used to be when we were younger and we started finding houses to rent or lodges to stay in. We still call it the Camping Trip but there is very little camping involved! This is our first year without any of the kids coming along, except for Mitzi's youngest daughters, Emily and Kellie. We stayed at Turkey Cove Lodge on Canyon Lake.
It's so much fun to see everyone and get caught up on what's happening with our families and our lives. We rented a pontoon boat for a few hours and took a boat ride around Canyon Lake. It's really beautiful.

Weekend Fun
We had a great weekend. The weather was hot, but still beautiful. We had lots of fun on and in the water between the swimming pool, the dinghy and the sail boat. Our friends Mitzi and Kelly came to visit along with Mitzi's daughter Emily. We went sailing on Sunday and had a wonderful sail. It was so much fun to spend some time with Mitzi. I've known her since we were in elementary school but it seems like we don't get to spend much time together anymore.

Pictures
We've been having a great time learning to use our new camera. We bought a Canon Rebel Xsi which is a wonderful digital camera with some awesome zoom and macro lenses. I've been taking so many pictures that I've earned a title: Deana Jones, N.N.G.P. (Non-National Geographic Photographer)! Maybe if I practice enough I'll get to lose the first N. This is a great camera so it takes most of the guesswork out of getting nice pictures. Luckily there are plenty of Herons in the marina that don't mind posing.

Summer Vacation
We were on vacation last week and we spent the first part of the week with Kayla. Mostly just hanging around the marina at the swimming pool. Very relaxing and lots of fun spending time with our granddaughter.

We sent Kayla home and celebrated our 11th anniversary for the second part of the week. We sailed over to Double Bayou and had a great time. Eleven years and still fireworks!!!!
